Configuring Component Visibility

Organizations can share Lightning record pages between people who need to utilize the package components and those who don't. When a Lightning page containing a package component is loaded, people who are not assigned the correct permission set for the corresponding product will receive an error. Admins can configure Component Visibility to display the component only to users with the appropriate permission set. When editing the Case Record Page in Lightning App Builder, click on the component you would like to configure visibility for, and you'll see the "Add Filter" button under "Set Component Visibility" on the right side of the page:



Our packaged permission sets contain custom permissions that can be used in the filter criteria. Click the "Add Filter" button and create a filter with the following parameters: 

Filter Type - Advanced 
Field - Permissions > Custom Permission > See below for app-specific permissions
Operator - Equal 
Value - True
 

Case Merge Premium (Duplicate Detector and Merge with Recent Cases components)
csmrgp.Assigned_Case_Merge_Premium_License

Email to Case Premium (Timeline and Widespread Issues components)
E2CP.Assigned_Email_to_Case_Premium_License

Case Flags

Filter Criteria

 

This method also works with individual tabs in the Tabs component. To configure the visibility of an individual tab, click the underlined tab name, then click the "Add Filter" button and follow the instructions above.

If unlicensed end users receive a red "license is required" error on the component like the one below, the user's profile may have been assigned the custom permission during installation.

 To remediate this error, remove the app-specific custom permission from the user's Profile.
