Email Subject and Body Not Rendering Non-English Characters

Outbound emails are not properly rendering characters from languages other than English. Emails Related List shows the characters correctly, but the email subject and body/content received by the customer do not.

Symptoms

Non-English characters appear correctly in the Emails Related List.
The subject and body/content of the email received by the customer display corrupted or unreadable characters.

Solutions

This issue can be solved both in Email to Case Premium and in standard Email-to-Case by switching the appropriate email template to "Unicode (UTF-8)" encoding.

Update every template used to send emails containing non-English characters.
Ensure both the subject and body/content fields in the template are set to Unicode (UTF-8).

Status

Working as designed. Template encoding must be configured to support non-English characters in both subject and email content.
