1. Navigate to User Interface | Sites and Domains | Sites to verify that you have an existing Force.com Domain or register one:

1. If you already have a Force.com Domain registered, proceed to step 2.
2. Enter a unique name for your Force.com domain. The name is case-sensitive. Only alphanumeric characters are allowed. Salesforce.com recommends using your company's name or a variation, such as "mycompany".
3. Caution: You cannot modify your Force.com domain name after you have registered it.
4. Follow the prompts to check availability, agree to terms, and complete your reservation.

 

2. Navigate to Setup | Develop | Sites and click New to set up your Simple Survey Force.com Site. Complete the Site Edit page with the following values (see example below):

• Site Label: Simple Survey
• Site Name: Simple_Survey
• Default Web Address: survey
• Check the Active checkbox
• Active Site Home Page: Simple Survey
• Click Save

3. The Guest User for the Simple Survey Force.com site will need a license for Simple Survey. Without a license, survey respondents will receive an error saying "Authorization Required".

Note: If you are testing in a Sandbox, license assignment is not required. All users are assigned a license to Simple Survey by default.

To provide the Guest User with both a license and permission set to Simple Survey, simply click the Assign License and Permission Set button. Alternatively, follow the steps outlined below.

• Navigate to Setup | Develop | Sites and click on the Site Label for the Simple Survey Site Detail page, click on Public Access Settings.
• Click the View Users or Assigned Users button at the top of the page.
• Click on Site Guest User, Simple Survey under the Full Name heading.
• Under Permission Set Assignments, click Edit Assignments.
• Add Simple Survey Site Guest User to Enabled Permission Sets.
• Click Save.
• While still in Simple Survey Site Guest User, scroll down to the Managed Packages related list and click Assign Licenses.
• Check Action box next to Simple Survey.
• Click Add.

4. Set the Default Web Address:

• In the Setup Wizard, you will need to copy and paste the "Site URL" created in Step 2 into the Default Web Address text area, and click Save. This will give the Simple Survey package the link for the survey landing page.
