The Case Flags Utility Bar Lightning component gives support agents an easy way to view currently flagged cases in Salesforce. The component can be configured to display flagged cases grouped by the running user’s owned cases, Case Teams, Queues, Role Hierarchy (My Report’s Cases), and a unified view of all available lists.
Unlike a case list view, which only shows the flag icon, the Case Flags Utility Bar component displays key information about the case, the current flag icon, and timing information. It is accessible from the utility bar in any Lightning App to which it's added.
Add the Case Flags Utility Bar Lightning component to your Lightning App using the following instructions. Optionally, click here to view the step-by-step video.
1) Navigate to Setup | Apps | App Manager.
2) Click "Edit" next to the Lightning App for which you wish to add the Case Flags Utility Bar component.
3) Under App Settings, select the Utility Items tab and click "Add Utility Item".
4) The defaults for the Utility Item Properties can be left as is. However, we recommend setting the Panel Width to 340. When configuring, hover over the information bubble next to each setting for further clarity.
5) The Component Properties are:
- Number of Displayed Cases: Determines the number of cases that will display in the utility bar component. Note that the cases will be ordered by flag age, independent of the number of cases retrieved. Default = 5.
- Show "Load More" Button: Shows a "Load More" button to fetch additional cases; if unchecked, remaining cases load automatically as the current cases are handled.
- Show "My Cases" List View
- Show "My Case Team Cases" List View
- Show "My Reports' Cases" List View: If the running user has no reports, this list view will not be visible.
- Show "Cases from My Queues" List View: If the running user is not a member of any queues, this list view will not be visible.
- Show "My Unified Cases" List View: Select this option to show all selected list views in one combined view.
- Default List View: Select the list view that will be selected by default when a user opens the utility bar component. If you select a list view that is not enabled above, the utility bar component will default to the first enabled option.
6) Click "Save" to save your new Utility Item and click "Back" on the top-right of your page.
7) Navigate to the App Launcher and select the App that you just added the Case Flags Utility Bar Lightning component to.
8) Ensure the component displays as expected.
Please note:
- Previous settings related to the old component's clock elements have been deprecated.
- The Utility Bar Component refreshes automatically once every minute. It needs to be active for the Case Flags Notifications to work.
