Create New Case Status:
Create a new case status to distinguish between cases that have been ordinarily closed and cases closed as part of a merge operation. Vicasso recommends using "Closed As Duplicate" for manual merges and "Automerged" for those automatically merged when the Automerge feature is enabled.
Merged Case Status:
Specify a Case Status that should be set on cases which have been closed as the result of a merge. Vicasso recommends creating a Status value of "Closed as Duplicate" for easy interpretation and reference.
If any Emails, Comments or Attachments are added to a Case with the specified Status, they will be re-associated to the primary (parent) Case, if one is specified.
Automerged Case Status (Only for customers who have purchased Automerge):
Specify a Case Status that should be set on cases which have been closed as the result of an automerge. Vicasso recommends creating a Status value of "Automerged" for easy interpretation and reference.
Duplicate Case Description(s):
The text in the Description field of merged Cases can be added to the primary case during a merge in the forms of:
- A Case Comment, with your choice of Public or Private
- Appended to the Description of the Primary Case
- A Chatter post on the master Case
- Not copied at all
Set Field on Merged Case:
Select a picklist field that will set a specific value on a Case after it has been merged. Example: Choose to set a Reason on a merged Case that may better describe it after it has been closed.
Case Merge Limit:
You may set the number of Cases to be merged at one time.
- Use the drop-down list to choose between 2-9 Cases.
- The default and recommended value is 5 Cases.
- If you need to merge more than 9 cases, refer to the "Case Limit Bypass for Clean Merge" setting on the Merge configuration tab.
