Case Merge Premium comes packaged with the "Duplicate Detector" Lightning Component, which helps find and merge cases that match the duplicate criteria you defined in setup.
To add this Lightning Component to your page layout:
- Navigate to Setup | User Interface | Lightning App Builder.
- Click Edit next to the Lightning Page for your Case Record Page.
- On the edit page, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand panel and locate the Custom-Managed section.
- Drag the component to the position where you want it on the screen.
- Adjust the component's properties based on your needs:
- Hide Duplicate Detector if there are no duplicates found & no Case Merge Premium history
- # of Visible Cases (Desktop): specify the number of duplicates to display on desktop
- # of Visible Cases (Mobile): specify the number of duplicates to display on mobile devices
- Table Fields: specify a field set for fields to display in the list of cases. We recommend including no more than 4 fields. If no field set is specified, the Default will be used and only Subject and Created Date will be shown
- Detail Popover Fields: specify a field set for fields to display in the detail view of the duplicate detector component on hover
Space Efficiency
In Lightning App Builder, the component can be configured to any width. Customized field sets allow you to select which fields to display in the component.
One-Column View
The smallest view of the component, the table fields will display in a list. We recommend keeping the fields to a minimum (ideally under 3) with only the most important information. End users can utilize the detail popover to see more relevant case details.
Wide One-Column View
The table fields will display horizontally in a slightly larger view. For best visibility, we recommend keeping the table fields to less than 6 (depending on field type) to ensure only relevant information is shown and fields are not truncated. End users can utilize the detail popover to see more relevant case details.
Header View
In the largest view, the component table fields are shown wide across the screen. To ensure readability, we recommend keeping the table fields under 8 (depending on field type).
Notes:
- These Lightning Components apply specifically to those working within the Lightning Experience and are not available in Salesforce Classic.
- For the Duplicate Detector component, the maximum number of visible Cases that can be defined in its properties is 50.
- My Domain must be enabled in order to use this Lightning Component.
- The Duplicate Case Utility Bar should NOT be added to your Case Page Layout. This is exclusive to the Utility Bar! Issues may be encountered if this component is added to the wrong place!
