File Slayer Library
Published Body

The File Slayer Library (old Hitlist Manager) gives System Administrators and those helping with larger file cleanup efforts a centralized, org-wide view of files within a specified date and size range. Rather than managing files one by one, the Library consolidates files from your enabled objects, allowing you to block duplicate files (identified by matching checksums) across multiple records in a single action. If Slaybot is enabled, it can be run to clean up nuisance images, such as social media icons and company logos.

To regain file storage in your org, the purge functionality lets you delete old or large files that are no longer in use.

Anyone utilizing the File Slayer Library must have the File Slayer Library permission set and the standard Salesforce “View All Data,” “Modify All Data,” and “Query All Files” permissions to access and use all features of the Library. If a user lacks permission to delete files, they will see the purge tab and be able to identify files for deletion, but the delete action will fail.

Note: the library only supports Files. Attachments are no longer supported.

Block Images:

Displays all image files across the enabled objects that are eligible for blocking. This is the page Slaybot runs on when enabled, since it only looks at images and automatically removes social media icons and company logos. The actions that can be taken with images are:

  • Ignore: retains all of the copies, allowing future entry.
  • Block: when in "hide mode", adds the file to the blocked list for future deletion. When in "delete mode", it deletes the file and prevents future entry.

Block Other File Types:

Displays a list of non-image files across the enabled objects in the org that are eligible for blocking. The actions that can be taken with other file types are:

  • Dedupe: keeps the oldest file, linking the deleted duplicate copies to it.
  • Ignore: retains all of the copies, allowing future entry.
  • Block: when in "hide mode," it adds the file to the blocked list for future deletion; in "delete mode", it deletes the file and prevents future entry.

Blocked List:

Displays a list of all blocked files.

Restoring and unblocking files restores them to their original location. When in "hide mode", unblocking makes files visible again to end users in their related records; in "delete mode," unblocking also allows future re-entry into Salesforce.
