Can Simple Survey Update Existing Records?

Using Flow or an Apex trigger, Simple Survey can update fields on related objects, but it cannot display the current values of those fields on the landing page. For example, you can have a picklist question for the respondent to determine their preferred contact method on the Survey object and copy the value to the related Contact, but the Simple Survey landing page renders before the value can be copied from Contact to Survey.

This is an example using Flow to update a picklist on Contact with the value of a picklist on Simple Survey.

1) Create a Record-Triggered Flow on the Simple Survey Object with the following parameters:

2) Add a 'Get Records' Element that will check to see if the respondent's preferred contact method are different:

3) Add an 'Update Records' Element to update the preferred contact method on the Contact Record, with the value the respondent entered as their answer, if different from the current value:

4) Save and activate the Flow.
