How to manually delete Record Types associated to survey programs

You are deleting an inactive survey program from the builder. You will be prompted to manually delete its related Record Type as part of the deletion process since that cannot be done programmatically.   This article offers step-by-step instructions on how to manually delete Record Types, including a video for visual guidance.

Step-by-step instructions to manually delete a survey program's Record Type:

1) Navigate to Salesforce Setup | Object Manager | Simple Survey

2) Select Record Types on the left-hand menu

3) Click the desired Record Type name

4) Click Edit

5) Deselect the "Active" box

6) Click Save

7) Select Record Types from the left-hand menu once again

8) Click the drop-down menu in front of the desired Record Type and click "Delete"

9) Confirm the deletion by clicking the "Delete" button

10) You may see the following error that is displayed when a new Record Type needs to be specified to globally replace the one that is being deleted.

11) Click the "Delete" link in the error message. You will see a screen with a drop-down selector to specify the new Record Type to replace for surveys. Make your selection and click "Done".
