If you're a user of Simple Survey and have the Prevent Duplicates setting enabled in order to prevent duplicate survey entries, below is what survey respondents will see on the survey landing page.

When this message is received, the respondent has already taken the survey and additional responses are not allowed because the Prevent Duplicates setting is enabled.

In order to bypass this message and allow duplicate survey entries, change the Prevent Duplicates setting to Never or to a desired timeframe. 

If you see this message only when Bot Prevention is turned on and it goes away when Bot Prevention is turned off and Allow Duplicates is set to Always, it typically indicates an issue with your reCAPTCHA setup. Here are the most common causes and how to resolve them:

1. Check reCAPTCHA Version

  • Simple Survey requires reCAPTCHA v3.

  • You’ll see this error message if you are using reCAPTCHA v2 instead of v3.

2. Verify Domain Settings

  • Make sure the correct domain has been added in your reCAPTCHA configuration.

  • If you are testing in a sandbox, ensure the sandbox domain is included.

3. Confirm Site & Secret Keys

  • Double-check that the site key and secret key from reCAPTCHA are copied correctly into Simple Survey.
